October 30 2019 marked the 108th birthday of the oldest living Test and international cricketer, male or female. It’s 82 years since Eileen Whelan, as she was then, turned out for England in the first women’s Test series played on English soil, more than two lifetimes ago in 1937. She is the sole survivor of that historic team.
